Accessibility at Avila’s El Ranchito

We want every guest to be able to read our menus, plan a celebration and find us — whether you use a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, captions or simply prefer larger text.

Accessibility tools on this site

A tools panel is available on every page, at the bottom left of the screen. It lets you set text size to 100%, 125%, 150% or 200%, switch to a plainer typeface, underline every link, increase contrast, reduce movement and left-align text. Your choices are remembered on this device and can be reset at any time.

Keyboard and screen-reader support is on by default and is not something you need to switch on. The tools are a convenience — they do not make this site conformant, and no tool here can prevent seizures or guarantee compatibility with a particular screen reader.

The standard we aim for

We work toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. Accessibility is ongoing work, and parts of this site may not yet meet every criterion. We do not claim the site is certified or perfectly conformant.

Accessibility features and review

  • A “skip to main content” link and consistent page structure with headings and landmarks.
  • Text descriptions for photos that carry information; our review goal is that no essential detail is shown only in an image.
  • Keyboard access to navigation, menus, the menu reader, tabs, the booking chat and pop-up panels, with visible focus.
  • Colour and text contrast on ordinary text; our review goal is that information is never carried by colour alone.
  • Layouts designed to reflow on small screens, with text-size options up to 200%; further zoom and assistive-technology testing is needed.
  • Respect for your system’s reduced-motion setting, plus controls to pause moving content.
  • Booking questions with labels, clear required and optional fields, and errors that keep what you typed.

Further manual testing with screen readers and other assistive technology is needed, so this list will keep growing.

Known limitations

Online ordering and map features are provided by other companies and open in a new window. We do not control their accessibility. If one of them blocks you, please call us and we will take your order or give directions over the phone.
